The Corpse

In 1959 Hellboy is called to the house of the Monaghans whose baby has been abducted and replaced with a fairy, Grugach. The fairy, when threatened with iron, reveals to Hellboy how to retrieve the child.

Hellboy tracks down the three fairies who task him with finding a grave in which the corpse of Tam O'Clannie from Killarney can be buried. They warn Hellboy that he must be buried before sunbreak and so the two travel across the Irish counties looking for a home only to be rejected at every turn.

The burned fairy from before seeks out his revenge and enlists Jenny Greenteeth to free Grom the ancient warrior who immediately eats Grugach and fights Hellboy. After a struggle Hellboy finds a home for Tam and returns the baby Alice to her parents.
