Privacy Policy

You can browse Characters, Publications, Series, Stories, the Timeline, and Reading Orders without creating an account or signing in. We do not run analytics or advertising trackers on the site, and we do not set any cookies for anonymous visitors.

HBDB offers an optional "Sign in with Discord" feature for account-specific functionality (such as saving Reading Orders to your account). If you choose to sign in, Discord asks you to authorize HBDB to receive:

• Your Discord user ID
• Your Discord username
• Your Discord avatar image

We request only this basic identify information — we do not request your email address, and we do not request access to your Discord servers, messages, or friends list. We use this information solely to create and recognize your HBDB account and to associate your saved data (like Reading Orders) with it. We do not post to Discord on your behalf, and we do not share your Discord information with any third party.

Signing in sets a session cookie in your browser so HBDB can recognize you as logged in. This cookie is used only to maintain your login session — not for tracking or advertising.

For an HBDB account created via Discord, we store your Discord user ID, username, and avatar URL, along with any content you create through your account (such as saved Reading Orders) and basic account metadata (such as when the account was created and last used).

You can request deletion of your HBDB account and associated data at any time by contacting us (see below). We will delete your account information and account-linked content within a reasonable time of your request, except where we are required to retain records by law.

We do not sell your information. We do not share account information with third parties except: (a) our hosting and infrastructure providers, solely to operate the Service (for example, our database and storage hosts), and (b) where required by law.

HBDB is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. Signing in with Discord requires a Discord account, which itself has its own minimum age requirements.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above. Continued use of the Service after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
